Oh Peru, I Wondered How I Could Ever Love a Place More:

I am writing this as it has officially been two months since returning back home from traveling Peru with my best friend. Trust me when I say I have been wanting to write about our experience, but I honestly have held off. Why?

Well… I was waiting for the right words to come to me. But, I think I have realized I will never find those “right” words to do this country justice. I don’t know about you, but I feel a part of me is left in each place I visit, and Peru… it has gained my soul and won my heart.

I cannot begin to describe how blessed I feel to have traveled and experienced this magical country alongside my best friend. This was our first trip we went on “just us”, and we planned EVERYTHING. From our flights, to air bnbs, to bus rides, to daily plans… we planned and did it ALL.

And when we arrived back home, in good ole Columbus, OH, we looked at each other, smiled with such pride and satisfaction, and said “WE DID IT.” And we cannot wait to do it again.

Though, it’s hard, because there is this sadness I’ve been dealing with after visiting Peru. It’s not the type of sadness that is like “boo, vacation is over.” This post-trip sadness stems from returning home and questioning whether you just experienced one of the most beautiful places in the world, for the first time. I can’t help but wonder if there is any other place that will actually make me speechless.

and I know it sounds silly (almost ignorant) to say, I obviously know there is so much of this beautiful world to still see, but man… Peru, I know you will always be one of my absolute favorite places I have ever stepped foot in.

So, because I literally feel I cannot do this country justice with words (and I am a writer), here are some pictures of our trip, so you can get a little glimpse into this incredible sliver of our world. If you are interested in seeing more, I also recorded our entire trip and will be continuing to upload videos on my Youtube channel Baylie Street Brands.

If you have any questions about Peru, please don’t hesitate to ask. We visited Lima, Cusco, Aguas Calientes, and Ica in the 12 full days we were there.

If you have never thought about Peru being a country you’d like to visit, hopefully that changes now. As I stood on top of Machu Picchu mountain and emotions overtook me, I sobbed knowing there were so many people in the world that would never get to experience this.

My advice to you, “GO!” and if you can take a best friend, all the better.
